Hello lovely readers!
My last beauty post got an AMAZING response so I’ve decided to keep it going and will blog about beauty as often as I can 🙂
This week I had a bit of a splurge in Boots and Debenhams, buying a variety of new makeup products that I was dying to try, so lets get started!
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
I have been a fan of the Urban Decay Vice palettes for years but have never tried any of the Naked palettes so I decided it was about time I did! I absolutely LOVE this palette, the colours are so pretty, easy to blend and it also comes with a dual brush for easy application. Perfect for everyday wear.
Here I am wearing the shade YDK, third from the right on the palette.
Urban Decay Naked Flushed in Native
I also picked up Urban Decay’s blusher, highlighter and bronzer trio Flushed in the shade Native. The blusher is very bright and very pigmented so I wouldn’t use this shade for everyday use but the bronzer and highlighter are perfect for contouring and gave my skin that ‘just been on holiday’ glow which is great for pre-spring skin.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in Light
I have used Mac’s Prep & Prime Primer F-O-R-E-V-E-R so I thought it was time to branch out and try something different so I picked up this primer by Smashbox in the shade Light. This is loved by beauty bloggers everywhere and naturally, I love it also! You only need a pea sized amount and glides over your skin giving it a nice glow. It also held my foundation for 16 hours!! Definitely recommend this for anyone who is stuck in a primer rut.
L’Oreal True Match Foundation in Golden Ivory
I have to be honest, I’m not really a fan of drug store foundations. I feel they don’t last as long or give as much coverage as the high end ones but this True Match foundation by L’Oreal has been getting rave reviews so I picked it up in the shade Golden Ivory. I have yet to try this but it blended into my hand in the picture really well and also has SPF 17 so would be prefect for summer which is round the corner.
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner 24HR in 01 Black
I am NOT a fan of eyeliner. I have teeny tiny eyes and wearing eyeliner on my top lid makes them look even smaller and this is the only reason why I don’t wear it daily. If I am going for a full eye make up look for a night out or an event then I will wear a pencil eyeliner for quickness. That was until I bought this gel liner by Maybelline. This is the first gel liner I have ever used and I am absolutely hooked! I think this is new as it was on a special stand in Boots and it also comes with a detailer brush for easy application. A tiny dot is all you need to line the whole upper lid and the staying power is INCREDIBLE. I would definitely recommend this for every woman’s make-up kit.
Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 05 Lovely Pink
I am a huge fan of powder blusher but haven’t tried any of Max Factor’s before. I believe this one is also new, it’s their Creme Puff Blush in the shade Lovely Pink. It is very shiny, almost like a highlighter and very subtle. Perfect for everyday use and the small compact makes for easy handbag storage.
L’Oreal Glam Shine Gloss Brilliance in 105 Hold On Rose
I am a HUGE fan of L’Oreal products, I think they are great value for money and have loved their Glam Shine glosses since my good friend Morven introduced me to them last year. The colours are beautiful, just so pretty and this one is shade 105 in Hold On Rose.
Here I am, pouting (ha!) in the Glam Shine gloss. I’m not sure if it will indeed last for 6 hours if you are eating and drinking, or indeed if the fantastic Scottish weather gets the best of you. However the heart shaped wand makes it quick and easy to reapply!
Real Techniques and Eco Tools Brushes
Lastly, I picked up a few new brushes! The Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and Foundation Brush and the Eco Tools Airbrush Concealer Brush. I think both these brands are amazing value for money, such great enduring brushes that should cost a LOT more than they actually do!
I hope you’ve all enjoyed this post and that this has helped any of you who are unsure of trying out both high end products and drug store ones!
